What is Worming from Home?
Worming from Home is a comedic job simulator for PC in which you play a pink earthworm holding down a remote finance job as a Junior Financial Analyst. Instead of typing, you hurl your floppy ragdoll body at a giant keyboard, bash your head against the keys to fill out spreadsheets and answer messages while a clock ticks through your 9-to-5.
Ragdoll Office Work
Every task is physical comedy — flop across the desk, head-bash the number keys and pray the printer survives your enthusiasm.
Two Perk Trees
Train Muscle Mass at the gym and Financial Insight at the Reading Nook to bend the office to your will, one silly node at a time.
Playable Stock Market
Buy and sell shares of companies like Technis Corp., ride double-digit swings and decide whether insider information is worth the risk.
A Tiny Life Sim
Hire interns, decorate your apartment, collect hats, flirt with coworkers and answer your smartphone — the office is only half the game.
Between shifts the game turns into a tiny life sim: lift at the gym to unlock Muscle Mass perks, read self-help books for Financial Insight, buy interns to grind out paperwork, gamble your savings on the in-game stock market, shop for hats and furniture, flirt with coworkers and eventually dig into a strange platforming gauntlet known as the Wormhole. Built by the two-person team of Zach Northrop and Mason Sabharwal, it premiered as a Day of the Devs selection and shipped with full controller support, Steam Deck verification and 32 achievements.

Office Task Minigames at a Glance
The five recurring office minigames, what each one actually asks of your boneless body and the tip that makes it manageable.
Achievement Highlights
Six milestones that tell the story of a full Worming from Home save — from the automatic first login to the rarest challenge in the game.
Welcome to Corporate Finance
Log in to your computer — the automatic first achievement every player unlocks.
TOUCHDOWN!
Travel a total of 100 yards with your ragdoll body across the whole save.
Valuable Work Experience
Buy ten interns and let them grind out the paperwork for you.
Expensive Taste
Purchase every single item in the Shop — the ultimate spending challenge.
Why?
Navigate the Wormhole on Torment Mode, the hardest challenge in the game.
Transcendental Invertebrate
Unlock every other achievement for 100% completion.
Where to Spend First: Perk Priorities
Not all progression is equal. Early Financial Insight pays for everything else, Muscle Mass makes every task faster, and interns quietly do the rest.
Shop Items Worth Your Salary
Five purchases that either unlock new systems, gate achievements or simply make the apartment feel like home.
L-Desk
A functional cornerstone rather than a cosmetic splurge: the extra surface changes how comfortably you can traverse the keyboard.
Reading Nook
If you plan to touch the Financial Insight tree at all, this purchase gates the entire system — prioritize it over any hat.
Beverage Hat
Pure comedy on the surface, but it doubles as an achievement key — sip while you work and the unlock takes care of itself.
Trinkets & Little Treats
Individually trivial, collectively brutal: Expensive Taste sits at 0.8% because completing the collection demands real salary discipline.
Smartphone Rewards
The rewards feed both cosmetics and achievement progress, so claim them as they appear instead of hoarding notifications.

Worming from Home FAQ
Is the touch keyboard option worth using?+
It depends on your patience. The touch keyboard replaces head-bashing with more deliberate presses, which some players find far more precise for spreadsheet numbers and others find sluggish compared to pure ragdoll chaos. Most community feedback suggests trying it for one full workday before deciding — tasks are timed, so a control scheme you trust is worth more than theoretical speed. You can also enable color alternatives to make target keys easier to read.
Why is the printer task so hard?+
The printer is widely reported as the most finicky duty in the office because it needs specific physical contact rather than raw force. Worms that hurl themselves at full speed tend to bounce off or knock the paper tray into chaos. Approach slowly, align your body with the paper path and let gravity finish the job. If it still refuses, step away and complete another task first — the printer has no hard timer in most days, so frustration flinging only wastes your shift.
How do I score 4.5 or higher in the job interview?+
The interview minigame grades both your answers and your composure, so respond quickly and avoid knocking over the furniture mid-sentence. The community-documented route for the 4.5 score achievement centers on picking the confident reply options and keeping your ragdoll reasonably still while the interviewer talks. Note that this route comes from a single community guide rather than official documentation, so treat exact thresholds as approximate — the underlying advice of calm, prompt answers holds regardless.
Are intern upgrades permanent?+
Yes. The developer confirmed in a launch-week reply that intern upgrades are permanent, so every intern you buy keeps contributing to your paperwork output for the rest of the save. That makes interns one of the most reliable long-term investments: they cost salary up front but keep earning while you handle video calls, printer emergencies and stock trading. Ten interns also unlock the Valuable Work Experience achievement.
What is the Wormhole and when does it open?+
The Wormhole is the game's hidden platforming gauntlet — a sharp departure from the office sim that only becomes available near the end of your career. It packs insta-kill floors, checkpoint sections and an optional Torment Mode whose clear rate sits under one percent. You do not need it to finish the main story, but it gates the Whole Lotta Worm and Why? achievements, so completionists should start practicing their flinging early.
Why does Windows Defender flag Worming from Home?+
A portion of launch-day players reported Windows Defender flagging the game's executable on startup. The developer has been aware of the reports and posted about the fix progress on the official channels. The practical guidance is to add an exclusion for the game folder or restore the flagged file, then verify integrity through Steam. Check the latest patch notes before manually excluding anything — an official fix may already have landed by the time you read this.
How long is Worming from Home?+
Early player reports put a standard career run at roughly four to eleven hours, with the spread driven by how much of the life sim content you engage with. The main workday loop is brisk, but 100% completion stretches far beyond that because Expensive Taste, the full perk trees and Torment Mode each demand extra time. The day-based structure also makes it a natural pick-up-and-play game — one or two in-game days per session works well.
